In case anyone ever wondered...

why I have a journal I never post to, let me tell you....

I used to post my thoughts and feelings on myspace years ago.  It was during a time in my life that was particularly painful and full of upheaval.  But in my old age (ha), I have realized that while cliched it may be, silence IS golden.  Sure I may come to a few  realizations that knock me on my a** with their profundity,  but my understanding of myself and others is more comprehensive.  Which is why I choose to keep things to myself.  Or at least not post them on the internet for everyone and his mother to read. No more grandstanding for me, thank you.

Cheers

Add it Up

As I mentioned, learning to keep my mouth shut has forced me to keep my mind busy, hence the obscene amount of books I have read this summer.  For the record, these are the books I've read this past week....

the Death of Riley - Rhys Bowen
For the Love of Mike -  Rhys Bowen
the Triumph of Caesar - Steven Saylor
Her Royal Spyness - Rhys Bowen
See Delphi and Die - Lindsay Davis
Saturnalia -  Lindsay Davis
Buckingham Palace Gardens - Anne Perry

Yes, I did read all of those.  Thanks to the many years of honing my skills, I read supernaturally quickly.  Working in independent bookstores will do that for you. No customers & a clean store leaves alot of time to "practice."

I am currently reading Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourn. I was up until 3 reading last night :/  It's one of those that's hard to put down.

So now I suppose I had better go catch  up on my laundry and those other housewifely tasks that I loathe and abominate.

Cheers,
xxx

So....

You know, I've had a livejournal account for years, but I haven't actually ever thought of posting to "a journal" per se. I guess to me, a journal is a personal thing, and I don't really feel like putting anything like that out there. Myspace will cure a person of that really quickly.

However, I may change my mind.

Stay tuned.
